HOCKEY HOOP AND CARS

NASCAR

As the 2007 season unfolds one thing is becoming rather clear. " Team Toyota" will not be much of a factor in this years season. However remember these guys have a ton of money in their pockets and they hate to lose. So even though 2007 isnt panning out exactly as these guys had planned its just a matter of time before you see them in the winners circle .

BASKETBALL

About four years the Myers clan was watching a Lakers game and Kobe cut loose with one of his "flying elbow" jump shots and just missed clanging some poor stiff right in the mouth. No contact was made and therefore no call. but at the time I remember thinking "what with the Lawernce Taylor swim move after a jump shot". Hes been pulling that "stuff" ever since and finally the powers that be are noticing (nothing gets past those NBA sleuths). Kobe says he's worried about being labeled a dirty player, where was the worry when he was doing the exact same thing but not getting caught? Given how he handled his issues of the past, perhaps he could give every player he hits in the throat/ear/mouth a $4M "apology" diamond ring? Just a thought.

HOCKEY

It appears Mario Lemuix's "I'm just lookin for a home" traveling road show which included stops in Kansas City and Vegas as come to a happy end. As KDKA-TV is reporting The Pittsburgh Penguins have reached a deal with city, county and state officials on financing for a new arena,. The deal should announced shortly. If Mario had moved the team to Vegas he would have become the new "Elvis" and no doubt made huge amounts of cash in the short term. But major kudos' to Mario for sticking it out and keeping the team where it belongs.
